# 7.1 - Preparing the evaluation of your assessment

## Composition of the Evaluation Team for a Bilan Carbone®

The organisation is responsible for contacting an evaluator, who acts alone or constitutes an evaluation team. The list of trained and certified evaluators is available in the ABC [directory](/english/annexes/bibliographie.md#labc-et-les-ressources-complementaires-au-bilan-carbone-r).

The entire evaluation team is trained in the Bilan Carbone® method and all its members must belong to organisations that are members of the ABC. It is led by an evaluation lead who is, in addition, [trained and certified](/english/annexes/bibliographie.md#guide-devaluation-des-bilans-ges) in the evaluation of assessments.\
Furthermore, if the organisation wishes to obtain its evaluation certificate with **limited assurance**, it may request the participation of a chartered accountant in the assessment evaluation mission.

It is important to respect the notions of **impartiality** and **independence** of the persons involved in the evaluation of assessments with regard to those who carried out these assessments. The ABC must be notified of any conflict of interest regarding the evaluation of a Bilan Carbone®.

More information on the Bilan Carbone® evaluation team and the notion of impartiality can be found in the [assessment evaluation guide](/english/annexes/bibliographie.md#labc-et-les-ressources-complementaires-au-bilan-carbone-r).

## Preparing Supporting Documents for the Evaluation

Section 6.1 details the [Bilan Carbone® deliverables](https://www.bilancarbone-methode.com/english/7-evaluation-and-quality-of-the-bilan-carbone-r/pages/fa3plzAvUUuDR7wNPbK4#id-1.-restitution-et-livrables-bilan-carbone-r), and the [supporting documents](https://www.bilancarbone-methode.com/english/7-evaluation-and-quality-of-the-bilan-carbone-r/pages/fa3plzAvUUuDR7wNPbK4#id-3.-restitution-volontaire-pour-levaluation) required for the evaluation.

Among these deliverables is the **self-evaluation report** completed by the organisation before the evaluation. This is done by following the instructions in the [assessment evaluation guide](/english/annexes/bibliographie.md#labc-et-les-ressources-complementaires-au-bilan-carbone-r) and completing the blank report found in its annex. This will notably make it possible to:

* Better understand what to expect in the case of a first evaluation
* Properly prepare all the evidence or additional documents required for the evaluation
* Correct any possible errors preventing the assessment from being verified and validated

Furthermore, **certain supporting documents remain valid for several years** and carrying out a Bilan Carbone® approach on a regular basis (particularly for high maturity levels) should not force the organisation to systematically repeat reflections whose conclusions remain relevant. The evaluator therefore has a validity range for certain deliverables:

* [Deliverables no. 16 to 19](https://www.bilancarbone-methode.com/english/7-evaluation-and-quality-of-the-bilan-carbone-r/pages/fa3plzAvUUuDR7wNPbK4#id-1.-restitution-et-livrables-bilan-carbone-r): The action plan and their quantifications, the transition plan objectives and its transition pathway, remain valid for a period of **2 years**. However, it is necessary to keep the transition plan monitoring up to date;
* [Deliverable no. 9](https://www.bilancarbone-methode.com/english/7-evaluation-and-quality-of-the-bilan-carbone-r/pages/fa3plzAvUUuDR7wNPbK4#id-1.-restitution-et-livrables-bilan-carbone-r) for an Advanced level: The risks and opportunities analysis remains valid for a period of **10 years**;
* [Deliverable no. 10](https://www.bilancarbone-methode.com/english/7-evaluation-and-quality-of-the-bilan-carbone-r/pages/fa3plzAvUUuDR7wNPbK4#id-1.-restitution-et-livrables-bilan-carbone-r): The entire mobilisation approach and the actions undertaken remain valid for a period of **2 years**;

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://www.bilancarbone-methode.com/english/7-evaluation-and-quality-of-the-bilan-carbone-r/7.1-preparer-levaluation-de-son-bilan.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
